Jet-Stream, the European streaming service provider, has been nominated for a prestigious Dutch Privacy Award

Every year, the award acknowledges companies that give importance to privacy and actively contribute to fostering privacy-friendly entrepreneurship and innovation.

Here’s why Jet-Stream caught the attention of the independent jury, according to Privacy First:

Contextual Video Advertising

Jet-Stream is nominated for the Dutch Privacy Award by Privacy First.

“Jet-Stream is a streaming service that has succeeded in making the protection of viewers’ privacy a revenue model. The software they have developed is innovative and unique because it does not send advertisers personal data from these viewers, but only anonymized data and data on context of the stream viewed. Because there is no need to ask for permission, and the AI they have developed does allow for truly targeted advertising, this “contextual advertisement” ends up generating even more ad revenue than the usual personalized ads based on individual profiles of viewers.”.

Privacy-Friendly Video Player

Furthermore, they use no cookies and no trackers in their software. Moreover, the video player they developed themselves does not share any generated data with their customers.”.

Privacy-Conscious Operational Practices

Our dedication to privacy goes beyond our software realm.

Jet-Stream’s operations are steeped in privacy awareness. For example, they have set up their own cloud that is 100% Dutch, employ only EU employees, and the company is fully Dutch owned.”.

Advocating for Privacy Awareness

At Jet-Stream, we don’t just prioritize privacy within our services. We actively strive to increase awareness about the importance of data protection. As part of our commitment to fostering a privacy-friendly digital landscape, we have authored several articles aimed at helping you become more privacy-conscious:

  1. Personal data can be as dangerous as guns and drugs.
  2. Five reasons why broadcasters should select vendors that are GDPR compliant.
  3. A 3-step check: how EU-sovereign is your cloud?
  4. What do video platforms collect about you?
  5. Risks of personal data collection with streaming services.
  6. How using U.S.-owned video and cloud services can be abused for political profiling of viewers.
